DESPISED ICON Prepares To Record New Album

November 30, 2006

Guitarist Eric Jarrin of the Montreal-based deathcore six-piece DESPISED ICON has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"We've been taking some time off to finish writing new songs, things are looking good for 2007, with a new album around April/May, and, of course, some good tours to promote this new release. The Monsters Of Mayhem tour was a huge success for us.

"Special thanks to Matthew 'Woody' Woods who's been behind the board every night we played. We wish him good luck and hope to work with him again in the future. Hail to all the bands we've met and hanged out with on this crazy run: THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, FIRST BLOOD, NAPALM DEATH, EXODUS and the mighty HATEBREED. With just a month to go before recording, we will not play any shows 'till the album is recorded and mixed which will bring us back on the road in March."

The Monsters of Mayhem tour was DESPISED ICON's sixth tour in support of its highly acclaimed album, "The Healing Process", which is a relentless slab of sheer aggression matched with impeccable time changes that quickly raised the bar for their peers. They completed a very successful run this past spring on the Monsters of Chaos tour with MORBID ANGEL and labelmates BEHEMOTH and KRISIUN.

DESPISED ICON shot a video for the track "The Sunset Will Never Charm Us" with acclaimed director Jean-Philippe Bernier (A PERFECT MURDER) and you can check it out at this location.
